MCALLEN, TEXAS – Border Patrol agents at the U.S.-Mexico border are being commended after seizing over 1,000 pounds of marijuana from illegally entering the country.
The incident occurred when agents patrolling on foot noticed three subjects loading a truck with large bundles of marijuana.
After the suspects realized they had been spotted, they abandoned the vehicle and immediately jumped into the river and swam back to Mexico.
The contents of the truck totaled a whopping 1,063 pounds of marijuana and was turned over to the DEA.
Arrests have yet to be made and the public is encouraged to report any suspicious or illegal activity at 800-863-9382.
