SAN ANTONIO – Advocates for the legalization of marijuana in Texas took to the streets Sunday in the first annual Marijuana March.
Chanting “Yes we cannabis,” the marchers made their way from Maverick Park to the Friendly Spot downtown.
The march was organized by the San Antonio chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana laws.
NORML is pushing for the removal of all criminal penalties for the private use of marijuana by adults.
“We’re not out here trying to say, ‘Hey, we have the right to to be in everyone’s face about being high,’ but the truth of the matter is, it’s a flower and the bottom line is that there’s so many benefits,” marcher Travis Eigner said.
NORML has been in San Antonio since 2011.
